Allegations of Coverup of animal neglect on the Pierce Campus

Dear Dov,

Please take a look at my latest blogpost post today at www.laanimalwatch.blogspot.com . It talks about LAAS ACO Stacy Dancy.

There are allegations that a West Valley ACO , Stacy Dancy, gave Pierce College Agricultural faculty a heads up about complaints of animal neglect concerning its farm animals.

This allegedly resulted in the sale of these animals for slaughter the day before an inspection by the LA ACTF. In fact, the Task Force apparently did conduct and inspection, but almost two weeks after the original planned date. My informant stated that this was a cover up known to several LAAS and ACTF employees. He named names, including Bowers and Boswell.

The allegation is that Stacy Dancy has run a private for profit business at Pierce since at least 2002 (see attached letter). That is, she was/is an LAAS employee, who moonlights a farm business of buying and selling cows from campus and boards them there.

She used her position in the department to gather info about the complaints and gave a heads up to Pierce. Allegedly, several LAAS personnel and ACTF personnel were aware of her relationship to Pierce and chose to not inspect the campus until after the animals were sold. This sounds like an obstruction of justice issue.

I posted two documents today (one dated May 11, 2003 talking about Dancy's "animal project" that indicate Stacy did have a for-profit farm business under the guise of a "student animal project," and hers has been in operation since at least 2002.

The other is a balance sheet dated May 31, 2005 indicating Pierce received almost $2,000 for boarding cows on campus and another $5,600 income for "cows." It does not say sale of cows, but just cows.

Apparently there was an "investigation" of this case about three years ago and nothing came of it-surprise, surprise. My informant stated a whole bunch of people were involved in making the investigation going away.

Please advise if you think there is an issue here. I will supply more data if you want it.

If you are not the person to review this case, who should I take it to?

You know, I really wouldn't care about moonlighting and giving a heads up except that it involves--in the minimum if true, protecting animal neglectors or abusers, which means the animals came out on the short end.
