We in the Los Angeles humane community are BEGGING you to e-mail, snail mail and call the Barack Obama campaign to expose the truth about Antonio Villariagosa and let them know what an immoral, unethical and corrupt Mayor he is. It seems now that Hillary is out of the race for President, Villaraigosa is trying to brown nose Obama and  convince him how helpful he'd be to his campaign.

As a Los Angeles citizen and member of the humane community, I feel it incumbent upon me to speak out against Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and his present ambitions to assist Barack Obama in his election bid for President.

Villaraigosa has a dismal track record as Mayor in many areas; not only did his sexual liaison with a high profile journalist while married and living with his family grab headlines for months, it seems this same behavior has been going on for years and long ago took over his capacity to lead in any official manner. Furthermore, his pre-election promises have not been fulfilled, to the disappointment of the electorate; to quote the Mayor at a meeting in 2005 he stated, "I've  made lots of promises I never intended on keeping." This type of arrogance and insecurity will only bring negativity to Obama's wonderful campaign.  Los Angeles, under the incompetent leadership of Antonio Villaraigosa, has become REgressive- not PROgressive

The issue of concern to me personally has to do with his responsibility for the needless and senseless killing of tens of thousands of our city's homeless and lost shelter animals. This is an issue that could easily be remedied, as the solutions have been presented to him time and time again. He simply refuses to hire competent leadership to oversee our city shelters. If Villaraigosa can't do something as simple as this, it's no wonder he has become such a disappointment to the city in so many areas. 

The humane community will make sure everyone knows Villaraigosa's dirty secrets if he continues to refuse to do right by the animals. Barack Obama and the Democratic Party does not need the type of negative baggage that Villaraigosa would bring to their campaign.

Unless Villaraigosa fulfills his pledge to hire No Kill Solutions as a consultant, activists will make sure that as many as possible in the state knows his true character. Activists plan to picket in Sacramento and wherever he attempts to run for office. We will do our best to make everyone aware of his treachery - and lechery.

Please contact the Democratic National Convention as well and let THEM know how immoral and corrupt Villaraigosa is and the fact that they shouldn't even CONSIDER him as a possible gubernatorial candidate. 

If and when Villaraigosa starts his bid for another term as Mayor of this city, activists will be out in FORCE to make sure he is DEFEATED. Remember, "A people united will NEVER be defeated!"  Until Villaraigosa keeps his pledge to the animals of this city, we'll make sure he never gets elected to another political office again!
