Many individuals in the Los Angeles humane community are somewhat surprised that Ed Boks has hung on as long as he has; Boks has little if any public support. As bad as Greenwalt, Stuckey and others were, deaths didn't increase, deaths by dying inside the kennels didn't increase, missing/stolen animals didn't increase, and transfers to rescue didn't decline.

With Boks, everything that should come down (deaths, illness) goes up. Everything that should go up (rescue transfers) goes down.

It's time to get No Kill Solutions to come in and consult and to locate and hire a general manager who will implement the No Kill Equation here in Los Angeles. The animals are DYING while Ed Boks continues to get his six figure salary, (more than any other General Manager of any municipal shelter system in the U.S. earns.) Ed Boks doesn't even do the basic, most rudimentary actions to increase adoptions, such as offer multiple off site adoptions every day. The city municipal shelter systems' that No Kill Solutions consulted (and who had much SMALLER budgets to work with,) were taught how to implement this program using volunteers and employees and IMMEDIATELY, animal lives were being saved.
